近期我系2008年级学员队开展了“再议延安革命教育”英语征文活动，全队同学积极参与、踊跃投稿。同学们一致认为，通过三天的教育学习，使大家又一次追忆了中国的革命历程，进行了一次爱国主义洗礼，进一步增强了对党的认识与理解。在此，精选了四名同学的文稿，以飨读者。
当她们在晨光中漫步于杨家岭畔的窑洞，徜徉于枣园里的林荫小道，沉浸于中国革命纪念馆中浩翰繁轶的历史，缅怀革命先辈的丰功伟绩之际，延安精神时时震撼着她们的心灵……
Yan’an Spirit
Yan’an, Holy Land of Chinese revolution, is one of the cradles of Chinese revolution, and has a famous reputation around the world.
Being eager to learn about its spirit, we set out to Yan’an. After about nine hours’ journey, we arrived at the destination. At first glame I got to the city, I was deeply impressed with its special natural scenery.Located in the northwest of China and with many famous mountains surrounding it and some rivers running through , Yan’an became the most important place of military affairs throughout history.
During our three days’ trip in Yan’an, we visited many old revolutionary resorts, such as Yangjialing, Fenghuang Mountain and Zaoyuan. I had seen many former residences of Mao Zedong, Zhu De, Zhou Enlai and some other leaders of the Chinese Communist Party there, where the great leaders worked in those tough years .By keeping up revolutionary practice of self-reliance work, they made great contribution to the establishment and development of the national anti-Japanese united front and people’s democratic united front, to national independence and people’s liberation and to the foundation of new China. They demonstrated the Yan’an spirit by hard working and living simply, standing on their owm feet,and serving people whole-heartedly,I believe their spirit will be shining forever and encourage more and more people.
Three days’ trip in Yan’an passed quickly.Reviewing this unfogettable trip ,a sentence occurred me,”I came, I saw, I conquered”_originally by Caesar. It is not each of the three verbs that matters. It’s the confidence and power between the words that have touched people, and granted more momentum to realize their dreams. Today, I can also feel the same confidence and powder from the former revolutionary generation in Yan’an. What’s more, I’d like to say”I came,I saw,I learned.”Yan’an spirit I absorbed here weighs much more than what I saw.I will move forward and try my best to be an excellent serviceman.

The visit of Yan’an
Yan’an had nothing special about this city in the northwest of the Loess Plateau in old days. It had absolutely no chance with the prosperity, the poverty and occlusion were the features of Yan’an bar! But Yan’an, well-known as the Holy Land of Chinese revolution, soon became famous, fascinating and magical because of the Chinese Communist Party and Chairman Mao Zedong’s thirteen-year presence.
We visited a lot of resorts in Yan’an, include News Memorial Hall, Fenghuang mountain, Baota mountain, Zaoyuan,“Four or eight” martyrs cemetery, and the former residences where lived the Central Committee, such as Mao Zedong , Zhou Enlai, Liu Shaoqi, ZhuDe, Ren Bishi, Zhang Wentian. These places left me a great impression and made me learn a lot. I was deeply moved by the simple lifestyle of the older generation of proletarian revolutionaries and their revolutionary sprit made me moved. It should be said that the trip to Yan’an give me a kind of emotional shock, spiritual baptism, the soul of sublimation. What was particularly worth mentioning was that this travel to Yan’an made me fully understand the Yan’an spirit. “With self—interest, Whole—heartedly serving the people, self—reliance and hard work” and so on. The spirit is excellent characteristics of the Chinese Communist Party and the Chinese nation. It is the Chinese People’s revolution and the spirit wealth. Yan’an created a miracle after another and to create the miracle of the Chinese revolution and began a new history of the Chinese nation! Yan’an created and left rich and valuable wealth, which should be cherished forever!
Although life is not as tough as before, we should keep hardworking just like the Alcester did. We should cherish the Yan’an spirit and carry forward it.

Keep In Mind ，Norman Bethune
What impressed me most during The Yan'an teaching activities was to visit the Phoenix Mountain, where Chairman Mao met with Bethune, and where Bethune fought for the lives of the Chinese.
Norman•Bethune, let me know what a noble man, a pure man is. In the past,we knew more about how Bethune did surgery for our wounded soldiers, how Bethune worked around the clock .Coming to the Phoenix Mountain, perhaps we should ponder what encouraged him to leave the quiet and peaceful motherland, what inspired him to give up his promising future and made four major options in his life: supporting the Spanish anti-fascist war, going to China to support the anti-Japanese, rejecting the invitation and going straight to Yan'an, going to the anti-Japanese front line to service;
It is a kind of spirit, a belief: the great spirit of selfless dedication and international humanitarian belief. He often smiled and said: "I had never been so tired, but I had never been so happy. Because people need me. What is" serving the people wholeheartedly "? This is it. In the peacetime, needs of the people remain the driving force behind the struggle of our soldiers,This spirit, this faith will always lead us to serve the people .
"A doctor, nurse's responsibility is to help patients, for their efforts in creating fun." Norman Bethune’s practical action tells us how to fulfill the doctor's duty: saving lives.
Soldiers and doctors have given us double responsibilities. Keeping Norman· Bethune in mind and our lives will always need such an example.

Historical moment, Permanent record
After a happy and busy summer holiday，I went back to my school to prepare for our journey to yan’an.
When I was a child, I learned an article written by He Jingzhi. It is《Go back to yan’an》.It made a deep impression on me. But when I made an attempt to understand this article ,I failed. May be I was too young to get the point in that time. I just knew what the writer said but I didn’t really understand what he meant. What is his really meaning? This time I can take advantage of the chance to find the answer to my question that puzzled me so much in my childhood.
I was so excited that I couldn’t fall asleep in the night. I was so excited that I ignored the tiredness in the train. I enjoyed the scenery along the road. I was eagered to get to yan’an earlier.
Nine hours later, we arrived at yan’an. We spent three days on visiting . But a heavy rain, we stop our trip in the first day, what a pity!
After the three day visiting, I understood the yan’an sprit. Iknew the Party Newspaper and newspaper workers in yan’an period at the first time. Their story touched me.
We should hold high the great banners of Marxism Leninism,Mao Zedong Thought and Deng Xiaoping Theories and work hard to implement the important thought of “The Three Represents”, inherit and push forward the revolutionary spirit. We should keep up with the times, unite as one and work hard and make new contribution to the realization of the objective of the new century. Try our best to make contribution to our school’s improvement .
